my little sis just sent me two great books: born again vintage by bridgette artise and jen karetnick and handmade nation by faythe levine and cortney heimerl. i love them! born again vintage features tips and trick to make almost-cool vintage threads into something really fashionable. i'm so excited to go vintage clothes shopping for something to re-create, like this:
and handmade nation is a lovely book based on the documentary by faythe levine. it features crafters from around the u.s. and the wonderful things they make. i was lucky enough to attend the portland screening of handmade nation a few months ago, and it was lots of fun!
