bright star

i. loved. this. movie. they don't make enough movies like this anymore. it is poetry is visual form. based on the story of Romantic poet John Keats and his muse, Fanny Brawne, the movie follows the pair as they meet, fall in love, and experience the wonder and heartache of true love.

every scene is exquisite. every detail is beautifully shot. the acting is amazing. the wardrobe- to die for. apparently, Fanny was quite the seamstress- and her hand-sewn frocks made me sigh with sincere delight during the entire movie.

you must see this movie. did i mention there's a scene where Fanny and her siblings catch butterflies and create a "butterfly farm" in Fanny's room? swoon.

the tag line for the movie is "first love burns brightest". that says it all.
