i'm in a book!!!

so, a little over a year ago, i was contacted by c&t publishing about possibly using my "three wish fish" project in their latest sewing book- and, of course, i said yes! and it here it is, for your viewing pleasure... a glimpse of my project pages from "Seaside Home25 Stitched Projects from Sea Creatures to Sailboats"!

this book is filled with easy-to-make seaside-themed projects, including quilts, pillows, bags, garlands, and... that's right... three wish fish!

look, there's my picture! in a book! tee hee. there is also a page for instructions and a pattern included. (but i can't show you the whole thing, silly!)

Seaside Home is available in bookstores now. and i will be hosting a giveaway for a free copy here on the blog within the next week! stay tuned...

rising

thank goodness for spring. no matter how hopeless life can feel sometimes, a blooming flower can renew that sense of hope, even if just for a moment.

new wedding invitation :: sweet stripes

i just added these to the paper + pinafore shoppe :: i've been itching to create an invitation that incorporates baker's twine, so here it is! the "sweet stripes collection". very simple yet elegant. and cute! this could work for just about any wedding style AND you could work the baker's twine into the program design, floral pieces or just about anything else you can think of.

seedlings

it's that time of year- time to start some seedlings! i do this every year just for fun, even though only about 20% of my seedlings survive to adulthood. (i don't have the greenest of thumbs.) there's something wonderful about putting tiny objects into a handful of dirt and getting a little green sprout in a matter of days. it's magic!
